Joy

Foundational
Value

What is Joy:

Joy is a value of mind and heart, where the two meld as one, and the focus  becomes a continuous sense of happiness, contentment, and wonder.

It is said the Greatest of  All Joy is having a genuine relationship with God, knowing for those of faith, Death and Sin are vanquished, and Eternal Life is both promised and realized.

Joy also refers to those people with a Positive Spirit; who laugh, and make others laugh.  They bring a healthy harmony to those around them with an upbeat, happy frame of mind.  Their life example helps to Shape a Better World, by giving us a Positive Vibration in the chords of our society.

It’s important to have a positive view of yourself and others; it’s contagious, it’s healing, it’s what our world needs each day.

Examples of Joy:

Joy is meant to be had, and meant to be shared.

Examples of Joy are:

  • Baby Cheetahs being cared for by their Loving Mother in the wild.

  • A Mother and Father with their first newborn child.

  • Knowing God has Justified You with his only Son, and that Love shall                        always prevail for the believer.

  • Hearing your Daughter survived the car crash.

  • Giving sight to the Blind, hearing to the Deaf, comfort to the afflicted.

Anti-Value: Misery

Misery is the opposite of Joy.

In a word; Misery is Negativity, wrapped in a vortex of ill will, spread like a disease to the innocent minded.   Misery is the sorrow of sadness; the torment of torture; the desolation of despair;  the angst of anxiety; the suffering of squalor, the hunger of starvation, the pain of war.

A Miserable person who chooses that path for themself or induces it in others; directly harms Life and the Spirit.  Such a person or persons, deliberately destroy relationships, suffocate cooperation,  and corrupt the civility of humankind.

It is nothing short of pure evil to intentionally create conditions for Misery to exist or continue to persist.

Misery always invites suffering, desolation, and often Death.

Biblical References of Joy:

  • Proverbs 17:22:  “A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones”

  • James 1:2-4:  “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”

  • Psalm 16:11:  “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore”

  • John 16:24:  “Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”

  • Romans 15:13:  “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope”
