Formlessness

Foundational
Value

Formlessness is a unique value, and one of the most important foundational values.  We have a little explaining to do with this one, as it’s not readily recognized as a traditional value; however it encompasses the content of several meaningful, and quite traditional values.

Formlessness is about disconnecting from “materialism” or the “form” of this world. Formlessness is all about distancing ourselves mentally and spiritually from the many “forms” of this world, as represented by: our bodies, our senses,  houses, clothes, cars, money, food, drink, vacations, planes, machines, computers, tv’s, radio’s, watches, jewelry, boats, hair styles, make-up, massages, athletics, celebrity, magazines, movies … essentially anything that can be materially found or experienced in our world.

Formlessness is about dropping  our natural attraction to “our form and form-based things” and disengaging our identity from that “form” and instead, shifting our identity to our spiritual self,  our Soul and ultimately to God.

Someone that is formless, is not materialistic; they don’t embellish their form with jewelry, clothes, cars, houses or anything that accents their body to draw attention.

Someone that is formless, doesn’t rely on drugs, alcohol, physical gratification, parties, body worship, seduction, face lifts, money grubbing, or sexual immorality.

Someone who has overcome form has embraced their spiritual self, and by doing so, has found their soul.

In this state of mind and spiritual focus,  they are able to grow their soul by exercising correct moral values in this earthly life, which lead to rightful choices, good decisions, and better actions; all of which build treasures in worlds unseen.

It is challenging to shift one’s focus away from Form and into Your Spiritual Self and purposely to God.

The devil knows this all too well, and that is why your life in this world is full of temptation to form-based pleasures.  It’s the devil’s game to lock you into form and thereby minimize and eliminate your connection to God.

Yes, mastering Form and Re-directing your Focus to God,  is the most necessary thing in your entire life.

“He who looks to save his life (his form) in this world shall lose his Life.

Yet, he that seeks to build up his Soul, shall gain his Life Everlasting.”

Shifting from form to soul, is not easy.  It will require a true focus of will, personal self-discipline, and the Awakening of the Foundational Values in your Daily Lives. It will require prayer and the invocation of God for strength and Grace.

Overcoming Form and gaining willful control over its grip on us is difficult; since we learn and adapt through the form of this physical world as we grow from birth to death. So it’s quite natural to engage in the form that makes up our world; experiencing our current reality through our five senses of: taste, smell, feeling, sight, and hearing.

And consequently, the more pleasure we derive from these senses, the more affixed we become to form.

Gaining understanding and moderation over our Form is not to diminish the importance of this world or our  life within it.

For this world was created for the express purpose of giving recovering and nascent souls a way to grow and find their way from death and an impermanent reality to Life and a Reality  that is Infinite.

Understanding the Value of Formlessness shall  grant us a needed insight into Our Present World as it will  challenge our concept of reality, and by so doing, will stretch our understanding into greater Truth.

A genuine understanding of reality is incomplete without an appreciation of “Worlds Unseen” and its influence on our purpose in Life.

The mastery of Form is a needed step in the development of our spiritual self and is accomplished by a focused and sustained exercise of our Free will; in choosing Alignment away from the “physical” dependencies of this world.

Those very dependencies are sourced in our addiction to the physical “senses” and eventually lead to a weakening of our spirit, as well as, a severe restriction on the healthy development of the Spirit.

Addiction to Form invariably leads to errant human behaviors such as: Greed, Envy, Hostility, Anger, Resentment, Antagonism, Lust, Gluttony, Disloyalty, Acrimony, Lies, Theft, Rage, and Murder.

Dropping Form requires an extraordinary concentration of our Free Will.  Yet, because of our human nature, our exercise of free will alone is not enough.  To be successful at controlling our form dependencies and Successfully Growing our Soul, ultimately requires the “Transformational” Grace of God.

We must Ask For God’s Help in this effort, and God will Respond.

It is incumbent upon us, to realign our pursuits to those of the Foundational Values, the Bible, and an Enduring relationship of Love of All Life and God.

Our Soul and not “Form” is the proper focus for Humankind.

As a wise man once stated: “the body doesn’t have a Soul, but the Soul has a body”.

Understanding this truth is the beginning of Wisdom and crucial to Our Awakening All the Values within Us.

Know We are all Capable with God’s Love.

What is Formlessness:

Anti-Value: Materialism

Materialism is the opposite of Formlessness.

You will know a Materialist by how they project what they value in their life.

A Materialist is caught up in all the Form of this world; as their spiritual self is either asleep, or worse, approaching death.

A Materialist is addicted to the lust of sex, physical enjoyment, riches, power, influence, “things” which project their wealth and self-importance.

As a Result of this addiction, they grow greedy, envious, violent, spiteful, jealous, ruthless;

and eventually lost.

Biblical References of Formlessness:

  • 1 John 2:16: “For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world”

  • Luke 12:15:  “And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”

  • Matthew 6:19-21: “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

  • Galatians 5:16:  “But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”

  • Galatians 3:28:  “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

  • Luke 16:19-31: The Rich Man and Lazarus....19 “There was a rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. 20 And at his gate was laid a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, 21 who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man's table. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's side.[a] The rich man also died and was buried, 23 and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. 24 And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.’ 25 But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner bad things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish. 26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us.’ 27 And he said, ‘Then I beg you, father, to send him to my father's house— 28 for I have five brothers[b]—so that he may warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment.’ 29 But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’ 30 And he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ 31 He said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead.’"
